Hello everybody! I am Miss Holdsworth and I am so excited to be joining the Utkinton family in September, where I will be the Eagles class teacher.

My journey into teaching started in 2015 when I joined a small rural church school as an apprentice teaching assistant. During this time, I was lucky enough to work with all year groups. Seven years later, I decided to take the plunge and train to be a teacher with the Chester Diocesan Academies Trust. I love teaching all subjects, but my favourites are Maths and Science! In my spare time, I love spending time with friends, family and my dog, Dougie! I enjoy going on walks and exploring new places in the Peak District.

After visiting Utkinton, I instantly fell in love with the beautiful surroundings, as well as the school’s caring ethos. I am so excited to spend my first year as a qualified teacher at this wonderful school.

In addition to the above, we will also have Mr. Aspinall for PE on a Thursday, Mrs. Chaloner for Forest School on a Wednesday, and Mrs McKay for MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) on a Friday afternoon.

As well as the usual English and maths lessons, over the course of this year we have many exciting topics to learn about. These will include:

  • The Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.
  • Ancient Civilisations.
  • Romans.
  • Earthquakes.

These topics will be linked to subjects from the National Curriculum such as: Science, Geography, History, Art and D&T.

I look forward to seeing you all in September!
