Fully qualified and trained staff care for the children in a safe and stimulating environment where children can socialise with their peers, engage in activities and have fun.

Whether they wish to play games with their friends or just ‘chill out’ quietly after the school day, their needs will be catered for at The OWLS Club.

Staffing

The club is run by fully qualified staff, who undertake regular training to ensure constant professional development and improvement.

All staff have DBS certificates.

Safeguarding, First Aid and Food Hygiene training is also ensured for all our staff.

The Club is registered and inspected by OfSted who monitor our standards at regular intervals, alongside the school.

The OWLS Club prides itself in providing quality of care and is committed to working in partnership with parents, families and carers to ensure ALL children’s needs are met.

Snacks

The OWLS Club provides healthy, nutritious meals that will assist children learning good eating practices for the future.

Fresh fruit and/or vegetables are offered with all snacks, and fresh drinking water is available at all times.

Fresh food is obtained regularly and stored in conjunction with Food Hygiene regulations.

Children with specific food allergies and intolerances can be catered for following individual discussion with parents.

Illness

In all cases of illness – please notify the school directly.

It is particularly important that any cases of infectious diseases common in childhood (such as chicken pox, measles, whooping cough, gastro intestinal upsets etc) are notified in order that the spread of infection can be minimised.

Parents will be contacted immediately should their child show signs of illness during the session.  ONLY prescribed medication can be given at the Club.

Collection of Children/Security

Children can only be released for collection to adults named on the entry record form, unless a prior arrangement has been made.

Policies

The OWLS Club adheres to all school policies as set out by CDAT and the school management team. These policies are available to read upon request to the school office.

Policies are updated and amended regularly to meet current legislation.
