Owl Experience

The children had an amazing time at the owl experience at Huxley today. The children asked interesting questions to find out about what the owls eat, where they live and when they sleep. The children learnt of an interesting way to tell if animals hunt at night or by day just by looking at the colour of the owl's eyes. All the children were very brave and stroked two owls - Bolt the Burrow Owl  and Walter European Eagle Owl. Bolt can run very fast and is named after Usain Bolt. Walter never learnt to fly which means he is very sociable with adults. We were very lucky to have a demonstration outside where we saw the birds fly around and even practise catching food in the air!
