Reception 16th-20th May 2016 SOTW- Eloise

This week reception received a letter from Cinderella asking if we could host a Ball in the Reception classroom on Friday. We spent the whole week preparing for the ball by writing invitations, a party food list, making decorations and buying the ingredients to bake fairy cakes.

In literacy we thought of adjectives to describe the Ugly Step Sisters and Cinderella. We also looked compared different stories. In one of the stories, we looked at all the old fashioned appliances Cinderella used in the past and how different they were to our own kitchen appliances today.

In maths we concentrated on money (buying food for the party) and weight (weighing out the ingredients in the fairy cakes).

Next week our story will be the Gingerbread Man.

Star of the Week

This week’s Star of the Week is Eloise. Eloise has been applying beautiful expression and fluency to her reading. Well Done Eloise, You Star!
