Reception 30th November- 4th December

Week beginning Monday 30th November

Reception have had another busy week in the run up to Christmas. This week we have been focusing on the story the Light House Keepers Lunch. We have written a list of food we would like in our picnic basket and looked at Utkinton on Google Earth and then created a bird’s eye view of the Island Mr Grinling lives on. We then created our own lighthouses from Junk Modelling, painted and labelled them.

In maths we have continued to look at addition and added together the layers of a sandwich as well as adding together the food in Mr Grinling’s basket.

We then moved on to look at the role of a doctor and how they help us. We set up our own hospital and looked after some poorly dollies, writing out details and prescriptions for them.

Next week we will be reading ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman” by Janet and Allan Ahlberg
