Reception: Week beginning 12th October

Reception week beginning 12th October

This week in maths we have been ordering items by weight, we started off by ordering different sized parcel s and found out that the biggest parcel did not necessarily mean it was the heaviest. We then weighed some zoo animals and Numicon to see which is the heaviest.

We have also been focusing on 2D Shapes and went on a shape hunt around our school, look at the pictures to see what shapes we found. We enjoyed listening to the 2D shapes song on youtube which is now on our webpage.

In PE we used lots of different sized balls to practise throwing up and catching and on Tuesday we had lots of fun in street dance with Paige!

In Literacy we made labels for the different sized presents and investigated nocturnal animals.

Next week- Our new topic book will be Can’t you sleep Little Bear? By Martin Waddell
