Tim Peake Space Project

Lesson: Science

On Wednesday children from Year 5 and 6 visited Huxley to take part in a very interesting and enjoyable activity related to the Tim Peake project, which both schools are part of. Our space ambassador, Sue Andrews, came to visit and tell us about the various rovers which have travelled to Mars recently, and presented the children with 3 soil samples. The task was to determine which had come from Mars, based on the information we were given. Using a range of analysis, filtration and separation techniques, the children discussed and decided which sample was the Martian soil. We are already looking forward to the next instalment of the project.
