Year 5/6 visit Quarry Bank Mill

Lesson: History

Year 5/6 visit Quarry Bank Mill

Yesterday, children from Year 5/6 visited Quarry Bank Mill as part of their topic on the Industrial Revolution.

As part of the day, children experienced life as an apprentice living and working at the mill in the 1800's.

Activities included a Victorian-style school lesson, a guided tour of the apprentice house and a tour of the mill itself.

Children were able to recreate some of the jobs that children would have carried out back in the time and learnt lots of interesting facts, as well as heard some very gorey stories!
