Reception 18th-22nd January 2016: Star of the Week Naomi and Eloise

This week we have been reading Dougal’s Deep Sea Diary by Simon Bartram. We created our own zig-zag books to learn about the days of the week and have enjoyed singing the days of the week song. After reading the story, we watched a short film about a real deep sea diver and labelled the equipment they used and the different sea creatures they encountered on their dive. There has been lots of investigating with water this week with us planning a floating and sinking competition and predicting whose ice cube would melt the fastest by placing them in different environments.

Next week we will be focusing on counting, writing and ordering numbers 10-20 and building vocabulary using the story ‘Smiley Shark’ by  Ruth Galloway.

Star of the Week

Well done to Eloise and Naomi for working really hard at the sports hall athletics with Class 3.
