Reception 25th-29th January Star of the Week- Lily

Reception - 25th-29th January 2016

In maths this week we have been focusing on counting, ordering and writing numbers from 10-20. We have used Numicon, play dough and songs to help us with this. Examples of how much fun we’ve been having in maths can be seen in the photos.

Our story this week has been Smiley Shark by Ruth Galloway. We thought about all the different ways the sea creatures moved in the story and wrote words to describe this e.g. dipped, dived, jiggled, jived, splashed, sploshed, darted and dashed. We then created our own names for the sea creature such as Crafty Crab, Silly Seahorse and Outrageous Octopus.

We decided to have a party for Smiley Shark so we wrote invitations, made decorations and played games on Friday at Stay and Play.

Star of the Week

This week’s Star of the Week is Lily. Lily has been independently writing using a sound mat and taking great care to write cursively.

Well Done Lily, you are a star!
